What does “Basic Staffing” cost?
These are estimated costs for centrally-allocated positions from the “Basic Staffing” explorer for 2026-27. They are calculated by using each school’s Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) count for a position and district-wide average compensation for a given job class. Choose an actual school, or build an example school by grade span and size, or view the whole district.

Many positions are funded as part of an FTE. Click “Round Up Partial FTEs” to see what it would cost if every partial position were funded as a whole one (0.2 becomes 1, 2.5 becomes 3).
At every school, based on grade and number of students
Allocated to every OUSD TK-12 school, sized by grade span and enrollment.
Set by type of programs and associated caseloads
Special Education staffing is set by the programs that the district places at the school and the number of students in those programs. Anything above that staffing is based on the individual IEPs of students.
Only if the school qualifies
Depends on need, eligibility or a grant; several of these positions are paid for with one-time funding.
